Firstly to say that whatever you are considering buying, Mihai & Kate offer a rare combination of geological and engineering expertise as part of, and very supportive of, the fossilising community. They are very communicative, efficient and helpful - you will be in good hands. |I have been wanting an air pen set up for personal use for ages, and it is largely the service offered by Mihai & Kate which has finally sent me down the slippery slope. Like many others, the issue of noise from the compressor is crucial to me (or rather my neighbours!) The choice of the Nuair Super Silent was based on its relative quietness combined with Zoic's confirmation that it would work well with their Microraptor Pen, which is what I am using. Delivery was virtually immediate, Zoic's set-up instructions are exemplary, and everything worked first time. The limits will be my skills and patience. I would give it five stars (something I rarely do) except that for the manufacturer (not Zoic) to describe it as Super Silent is pushing it a bit and it is too soon to comment on reliability. Nevertheless, relative to other compressors it is significantly quieter and I am now relaxed about my neighbours.
