MEK is a suitable solvent for the thinning of Synocryl 9122x which is used in chemical fossil preparation as a protective barrier. Manufacturing variations in Synocryl 9122x make it difficult to precisely give a dilution ratio, but it is approximately 1 part MEK to 1 part Synocryl 9122x.
