The ZOIC PalaeoTech ducting range
Galvanised and flexible ducting are the only suitable options for ducting in the fossil preparation workshop. This is because they are resistant to abrasive dusts and stone dust. It can also be grounded quite easily. Planning is key when designing the dust extraction in your workshop, but hopefully we can help you by making sure that you have what you need from the start! It's important to know what fits with what, and how to attach them.
Galvanised ducting and its fittings come with one of two 'ends'. The male ends will fit inside the female ends. For instance, on most fittings the ends will be male (e.g. on an elbow) and the ducting itself is female. You can also use couplers to join these together as required.
Flexible ducting is much more flexible, and will fit on either male or female ends, but will require a hose clamp to secure it in place. Galvanised ducting and fittings require joining with Tecseal solvent sealant, unless there is already a rubber seal in place.
